Below you will find some of the most frequently asked questions about the Mysteries of Mithras. Hopefully, any questions you have, are answered below. If not please contact us.

How often do you meet?

We meet four times a year in March, June, September and December.

Where do you meet?

We are based in the South of England, in the Greater London area. If you would like to join the Mysteries of Mithras, you would need to be able to attend meetings in this area.

Do you intend to open up any other Legions across the country?

Currently, we do not have any plans to consecrate new Legions, but if there is enough interest we would consider opening more Legions as and when there are enough potential members to warrant this.

Are the Mysteries of Mithras compatible with my religion?

Yes. The Mysteries of Mithras and our ritual is compatible with all of our member’s personal faiths. We use the allegorical symbolism of Mithraism as an initiatic experience. There is no worship involved and all faiths are very welcome to join our Order.

How was the order formed?

The genesis for the creation of this Order came after a meeting of the Holy Royal Arch when a number of Companions were discussing the ceremony and its meaning when the topic of Mithras came up in the conversation.

Over time these members decided to try and piece together the ceremonies for themselves. They knew that they wouldn’t be able to recreate an ancient Mithraic ceremony, instead, they wanted to use the rich symbolism to create their own modern version of the Mysteries that would satisfy their curiosity and encourage their own personal development.

How did you create the ritual?

Creating the ritual came through rigorous research – however, the real challenge we faced was that we knew resembled recreating an old jigsaw-puzzle that was missing most of its pieces. It was the utmost importance that they make sure that we never strayed far from the central themes and evidence known about the ancient Mysteries.
